Terrible slow service and they always mess up your order too many times that I cannot mention them all here and do not take accountability for it. I will never return. They will be closed within one yr or bleeding in debt if they are not so already. Incompetent management

Sugar Bun is a Howard Beach Institution. When they expanded and added seating they just became better. Best, absolutely the Best cakes around. A great place for an egg sandwich breakfast or a lunch. They should raise their prices. A great value.I was there this morning (9/11/2016) picking up a cake for my daughter's birthday. I ordered cake coffee, and eggs on a roll. I took the coffee and sat down and met a retired gentleman who comes there often and lives only 2 blocks away. I got my sandwich, we expect exchanged more pleasantries and finally had to leave. Ordered an iced latte but they don’t offer it, had to settle for an iced coffee and it was the most tasteless coffee I’ve ever had. Ordered a cheese danish and it was either old or just made bad. The bun was hard and did not have a home made taste at all. Might try something else next time but disappointed with the coffee. $6.32 with a cheese danish should of been way better.

By far the best bagels I have ever had. I bring a bunch into work for my coworkers and they all ranted and raved about them the same way I do. I have never had a complaint about this place at all. AS FOR THE PEOPLE ON HERE COMPLAINING ABOUT WAIT TIME. What do you expect when there's a line to the door and 25 people sitting. The food is amazing and they're packed. The fact that they're packed it takes a while to get your food some days. It's always worth it though. (You want fast food made from trash, go to McDonald's) SUGARBUN #1 BREAKFAST IN NYC!!!!!!

To go breakfast is always good. It must be one of the best bakeries I have ever been to, so much to choose from. The only negative I would have to say is they are closed on Monday.

Bad attitudes by some of the staff. Unwilling to make a coffee bc they were closing in 20 minutes. Geez if this is customer service I don't know what to say.

No customer service given at all. Made an honest review and owner decided to harass me through messenger via yelp. A normal business owner that cares about reviews shouldn’t be getting upset with a customer over a burnt bagel.I’m sure the dept of Health would agree with me as well.

This place has Exquisite Italian cookies and pastries oh, it is one of the cleanest bakeries I've ever seen you can't go wrong with sugar bun. My girlfriend and I picked up some St Joseph's zeppole is here filled with cannoli cream, absolutely out of this world

Been coming here my whole life everyone in this community knows this is the go to place for quality in a community that's filled with mediocre pizzerias and low quality eateries. I'm proud to Leave a stellar review for this fine establishment that keeps getting better. the management here really knows how to treat their customers. Maryanne will go above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is flawless. And I love the philly fluff and will recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth . Plus they deliver so what else Would you need to fill that void. I'm looking forward to breakfast tomorrow morning and a late afternoon snack

Absolutely horrible! I placed an order on my phone. When I came in and went to the cash register to pay the person in front of me place the same exact order that I did. He walked out with it five minutes later. I had to continue to wait and when I asked where my order was they started the order. I was then told that I had to abide by the time limit in the app. So I asked why someone who orders in store would have their food ready before mine. It is only logical that if I place an order and then someone else comes in and places an order my order should be processed first and then theirs. Instead of acknowledging the logic, she continued to argue with me to prove a point. NEVER order online unless you want to wait half an hour for something that takes 5 minutes to be ready in store. And be careful that you don’t complain. You, the customer, of course wouldn’t want to offend the staff.

Staff are great, but Omgeee. I come here for lunch every Friday and I spend my whole 30 min lunch break either waiting on line or waiting for my food. Get it together. People want to be in & out!!

I came here for breakfast and I ended up leaving with cookies and pastries. I was disappointed with the cannolis. The biscuit was soft and the filling was not very good.

Sugar Bun is a lifestyle! Great variety of food done fresh and quickly. Hearty coffee and delicate pastry. Always, and I mean always fresh!!!

Last week, I had a toasted bagel with veggie cream cheese - unbelievable taste. comforting. soothing. Such encounter makes life a little bit more joyous, to live for. Marie was wonderful, kind, courteous, with a gentle smile while presumably "the boss watching over, ensuring the best service". for sure i will return again and again......

I LOVE LOVE LOVE SugarBun! I order from SugarBun anytime we have guests for corporate meetings at my workplace as well as when we celebrate birthdays once a month!! and they are on point!! Let me tell you the food is always fresh and the Customer Service when I call in is amazing! REBECCA is outstanding at what she does... If I lived closer I would be there everyday purchasing something simply for myself! Otherwise do yourself a favor and stop into SugarBun!!

I just got a Ham, Egg, and Cheese on a Toasted Bagel and it tasted like heaven. Everything was fresh and the bagel was so light and fluffy. If the breakfast is like that, then the pastries have to be better than that. I'm looking forward to going there again and I recommend that you go there as well.

I am obsessed with this place I’m always ordering on Uber eats and whenever I go in person everyone is super sweet they work quick and the food is delicious every time! They even gave my daughter complimentary cookies I mean cmon they are amazing ! My go to spot for breakfast!

Was my first and last time at this place. Staff was not that friendly. I ordered an omelet and mango shrimp salad. She kept me waiting while my food sat on the counter. They gave me an attitude asking if i was ready, meanwhile i was sitting there waiting for about 15 minutes. The omelet was ok but they forgot the swiss cheese that i was charged for. The salad was a waste of money. They threw is about 2 handfuls of arugula , shrimp and un rip mangos , which were hard and inedible.

I honestly can’t believe how rude the staff was. We walked in at 3:55 pm (did we know the place closes at 4 on Sunday??!!). We asked for cappuccinos and they said they didn’t have cappuccinos. So we asked for a slice of cheesecake and a slice of chocolate fudge cake and 3 regular coffees. They said no regular coffees (?!). I asked if she could cut the slices in half and she said she doesn’t normally do that. She added they close at 4. I said they should have told us because we wanted to sit down and have coffee and dessert. She said that she would put the cakes back if we didn’t want them. I honestly think they treated us this way because we are Hispanic. I guess it’s all a part of the Howard Beach culture. We are extremely disappointed and insulted.

First time I visited this place was pretty good. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a roll. It was good but the bread was dry, maybe I could asked for it to be toasted next time. I also ordered some sugar free cookies, which were really good! I'm glad they have sugar free options. The only thing I found weird was that they took my order without charging me first so I was standing in front of the line by the register for a while. I'd prefer to wait to the side ( there was a large line behind me ).

Update: let me correct since the owner responded. The food and baked goods are still great. My concern is the customer service. I’ve seen several people in here have the sameComplaint. Most people are coming in on break or before work. So yes faster service how it use to be should be the same. I been late to meeting due to this. 1st post :Been coming for years. This use to be the go to spot. But ever since they renovated and changed employees. It’s slow as hell. They’re personalities are dry. Use to feel welcomed coming in now i don’t know

Service is terrible in the morning. The women behind the counter take the orders of regular customers at the back of the line instead of the first customer at the front of the line. That’s not how you do business. Tell your workers first customer gets served first not their buddy who sits there all day chatting with them. Tried this place again . Even worse than last time. There is a virus going on . The owner crams too many people in the store , violated social distancing. People arguing about who was there first. Hey owner don’t put profits over customers health and safety

I love the bagels & coffee here. They also have great sunnyside up eggs. The staff is friendly & eager to please. The atmosphere here is warm & friendly. The entrance & seating truly is handicap-friendly, however, a person in a wheel chair/scooter may need assistance in the unisex restroom. I would rate this five stars if both the restroom was truly handicap-friendly & they offered organic options.

Nothing was fresh. Everything I ordered tasted day old. Cookies, cake, eclair.....EVERYTHING!

Ownwership changed. Recipes remained.Everything we have purchased was delicious. 1 year later and true to his word the owner created a masterpiece for my wife's birthday. 5 Wonderful and delicious stars.

Excellent neighborhood bakery in Howard beach in a newly remodeled building. Prices are comparable for the area. Staff was extremely friendly on a busy Saturday afternoon with majority of tables occupied by customers. We even picked up a package of bagel chips from them.

I go to Sugar Bun mostly for lunch and I order for takeout. The staff there is very quick and efficient and always indicates the correct pick-up time. They have a nice selection of baked goods but if you like saladsTHEY ARE THE BEST!!!! YOU HAVE TO TRY THEIR SALADS. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

We used sugar bun for Christmas treats for our clients, the spread was fresh and superb! Every single person fell in love with the presentation and most delicious cookies.
